Chenguang Natural Extracts India Pvt Ltd (CCGB), which operates under a contract farming model in regions including Chamarajanagar District, faced the challenge of achieving detailed oversight, stringent quality control, and complete traceability across its cultivation network.
To address these operational needs, CCGB partnered with Kultivate India, based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, to implement a comprehensive Marigold cultivation digitisation software service. This digitised system was designed to automate, track, and optimise every critical process, from farm enrolment to factory procurement.
The Blueprint for Digital Transformation
Establishing Digital and Field Integrity
The system was established with cluster setups and detailed linking of the Farmer-Agent-Supervisor trio. Seed distribution management to Agents and corresponding enrolment and distribution reports were fully implemented.
Next step ensured rigorous spatial accuracy. Key deliverables included Geotagging and Geo-fencing of crops, tracking of Crop Transplanting planting, and Nursery Growth Monitoring. The system provides a Consolidated Graphical display of on-boarded crops/lands on Google Map.
Inventory Logistics and Procurement Precision
The software enabled Company Inventory Digitisation and provided tools for Seasonal Requirement Projection across company-wide, cluster-wise, and agent-wise levels. It provided 100% tracking of input distribution between the Company-Agent and Agent-Farmer, and established a Commission calculation system for input distribution.
The system also delivered Cluster wise Crop Production Estimation (serving as Yield Prediction) and Procurement Scheduling. It allowed for the Digital Recording of Procurements at the farmer field and the Digital Upload of Weigh-bridge data.
Agronomy and Guaranteed Traceability
The system tracked Crop Cultivation and Field Operations using GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) items. It allowed for Personalised Protocol Integration, tracking of Disease and Pest Occurrences (Crop Failure Tracking), and comprehensive Supervisor Field Visit Tracking.
In addition, the solution successfully implemented end-to-end tracing of cultivation from Farm to Factory, tracing the process steps (When, Where, and How cultivated), and tracing the inputs used for cultivation at each step. Essential reports included the Produce Traceability Report and Input Traceability Report.
Integration and Value Additions
The weigh-bridge measurement system was integrated with the new traceability system via excel upload. The platform also includes Mobile Notification Systems and Critical Warnings on deviation for Managers. These warnings alert managers to requested scenarios such as crop failure and non-supply farmers.
Going Above and Beyond: Enhancements and Intelligence
Kultivate India further enhanced the platform by developing numerous additional functionalities and advanced reports beyond the original agreement.
Key Additional Functionalities:
Group Sowing Functionality (including sapling distribution during transplant).
Dynamic Recovery Amount setting on multiple tiers.
Verification Functionality for data points like Demo Farmer and Crop Failure.
Input Request Workflow Functionality and Input Return Workflow Functionality with subsequent approval processes.
Procurement Payment Report Functionality for Finance.
Conclusion: Smarter Farming, Optimised Results
Through the implementation and continuous improvement of the Marigold cultivation digitisation software, CCGB achieved comprehensive digital control over its contract farming supply chain. By verifying fields through geo-fencing, tracking input usage, managing agronomic protocols, and delivering farm-to-factory traceability, the platform provides the necessary intelligence for efficient operations and compliance readiness.
The Kultivate software functions as a sophisticated lens, replacing fragmented paper records with a single, continuous stream of verified data. This allows CCGB management to view the agricultural landscape not through individual snapshots, but as a real-time digital dashboard, ensuring that every planting decision, resource distribution, and harvest prediction is executed with maximum precision and confidence.
